Lets beat Cinco de Mayo like a Pinata with a Climb-a-thon

Disney and Pixar slapped hands and recently made a fantasy-film called Coco. This flik showcases mexicano tradition with humor and intrigue as it follows one boy's passion for music. I do recommend watching it to get you in the holiday spirit. I do not recommend watching it if you have a dying matriarch in your family. You'll end up crying real hard. Real hard.

NOSOTROS will take advantage of this upcoming fiesta because our name is Spanish and we love fiestas. We're having a climb-a-thon this Saturday, May 5th and there will be diversión y juegos. Anyone? That's fun and games.

Clothing

I will be suited with mustache and mariachi attire. You're encouraged to do the same. We expect you to dye your hair black, wear brown contacts, get a spray tan and learn Spanish by Saturday.

Music

The VGA to HDMI part is en route. If all goes well, our projector should be suited and booted to pump out Latin classic music videos all day in the gym. Prepare your hips. They probably won't be able to contain themselves.

Food

We're adding a stainless-steal beaut to our kitchen. Our new microwave will allow you to pop all the free popcorn your aorta desires! Bring your peprika shaker so you can make it mexican-style!

Dance

To all who are interested, we'll be having a self-directed Salsa competition. Film yourself dancing for 15-seconds and tag us online. Our highly qualified judge will decide the winner. We searched far and wide for the perfect judge. This individual had to be a seasoned dancer with Hispanic roots. We landed on Amanda Stancato who will choose the champion of the 2018 15-second Salsa comp and winner of a Day Pass!

Climb-a-thon

We'll have 3 climbing challenges in the gym to use for competition purposes. The winner of each challenge gets a Day Pass!

Challenge 1: Rainbow Route Challenge

We have a route that climbs like a rainbow. It spans up and over the kitchen opening on the left side of our gym. This problem is identified by royal blue holds and marked with yellow tape. The winner of this challenge goes to the climber who can endure going back and forth from start to finish the most amount of times without dismounting.

Challenge 2: Campus Challenge

We have a pink-hold-yellow-taped route fixed to our inclined wall at the back of our gym. The winner of this challenge goes to the climber who can campus up and down the route the most amount of times without dismounting. To campus a route means to climb it without feet.

Challenge 3: Dyno Extravaganzo Challenge

We have an orange-hold-yellow-taped route on the right side of our gym that consists of 5 holds, two for your feet, two for your hands and one for the final grasp. The point of this route is to launch - or dyno - from the four bottom holds to the top hold. The point of this challenge it to see how many dynos you could do in 30 seconds! Most amount of dynos wins!

Strip Party

Finally, near the end of the night, starting at 8p, we'll begin to strip holds on one section of the gym. If you'd like to join, great, if you'd like to climb in another part of the gym, that's okay too. There will be other sections of NOSOTROS where you can boulder.

Closing Charge

Bring + share with your friends, fam, neighbors, coworkers or crush. Happy Cinco de Mayo!
