Wildman
3,000-foot tall rock wall. Four-hour climb. One chalk bag. Alex Honnold climbs mountains ropeless. That's my kind of guy.
El Capitan
Coolest rock formation name ever. NOSOTROS will definitely have a route called El Capitan. Or maybe we'll be cool and call it, El Cap, like the locals do. Do you have suggestions for other names for routes? We'll have 100+.
No Ropes
You know our gym will be bouldering only. That means climbing done in short heights. 14 feet and lower. No ropes. Sufficient padding and room to fall. It'll be safe; fewer injuries than bowling per year. It'll be challenging; difficult angles, holds and structures make failure frequent.
Challenge Maintains Interest
There's a reason the Tough Mudder is successful. People love the challenge. However, you can only run so many of those things; maybe once per year. What is something you're doing every week that's challenging, interesting and realistic? Apart from climbing, I can't think of anything else.
Conclusion
I'm excited about the rock gym. It's the best activity I've seen that bonds people and holds interest. If you can think of something better, let me know, we'll launch that. If you can't, we'll keep moving forward.
