Eglin 7/13: Staying Faithful is Like Growing a Stache

Mustache

It's weird in the beginning. It takes maintenance. You're not sure about it. People may look at you funny. They can point and laugh. It takes patience to grow a stache and so does staying faithful.

Faithful

I mustache you a question? Where are you stumbling? Job? Exercise? Relationship? Where do you need to hold on? Stay faithful? After my first year working with teens, I wanted to quit. I called the lady in charge and said I'm faltering. She asked if I can stay faithful a little longer. It's almost like she knew that this storm would pass. She was right. I was just having a bad day. I think we had a party the next week with the Young Life kids and it was a good time. I forgot about the fun part of investing in others. Does your storm have a fun part?

Conclusion

Dudes with staches are characters. Staying faithful builds character. If you're in the middle of growing a mustache, ride out the awkward stage. Stay faithful. Fuller lip pastures are ahead. If you're in the middle of a storm. Stay faithful. Greener pastures are ahead. *

* – Or, maybe not. Sometimes things don't get better. Storms can linger. If this is the case, get help. If you got no one, give me a call.

Practical Suggestions

  • If you watch your stache it'll grow faster

  • If you watch your faithlessness it'll grow stronger
