I did a lot of work yesterday. Most guys bust their butt M-F. 8a-5p. At work you're thinking, sweating, selling. You're doing stuff in the job description. You're doing stuff outside the job description. The daily grind. Guess what? Once you punch out from a full days work, you're only halfway done. At home, I need you husbands to focus on two words – Cherish her.
2 Husbands
I've got buddies who are husbands and cherish. One of them spends an hour talking with his wife every day when he gets home. She feels valued by it so he does it. I've also got buddies who are husbands and don't cherish. One of them spends an hour drinking at the corner bar before he gets home. His wife hates it. Here's what I've gathered, good husbands cherish their wives, bad husbands don't. I've been both.
What's Cherish Look Like?
I know you'd take a bullet for your lady. But would you take advice? There's many things you can do to cherish your wife – cook, clean, play with the kids, slow dance, talk, write a letter, play an instrument, deal cards, walk, bathe the baby, massage her back, play with her hair, empty the dishwasher, ask what's her number one errand item and do it. There's one thing you can be to cherish your wife – a friend. They surveyed successful couples and the top denominator that all had in common was friendship. Is she your friend?
What's Negligence Look Like?
Husbands who clock out at work then check out at home are hurting themselves. It's like you're pulling on a thread that's unraveling the blanket that's keeping your wife warm. As the blanket unfolds your wife gets cold. As your wife gets cold, you get told. You want that?
Conclusion
There's a lot here. Don't get overwhelmed. Start slow. What's one thing your wife would feel cherished by? Pick one. Take it from the guy who's stepped on some land mines, home life is better when you cherish her. Do it and she will love you long time.
