Eglin
A city located on Florida's pan handle and owned by Uncle Samuel. Eglin's Air Force Base is where our squadron is serving AT, annual training. We'll be here a fortnight.
Low Days
Our work days won't be too hateful. Wake up 0500. Read. Breakfast by 06. Meetings at 07. Train till 1600. M-F. The heat will be an issue. I heard the trick is to wear shorts under your coveralls and it's way better than ABU pants. You know, ABU pants.
High Goals
My goals for this trip is call Amanda a lot, get to know my crew better, write blogs about our time here, finish editing Pre-Launch Video 3 and write all non-profit requirements. My commander called me out. "You should've left work at home. You're in Florida."
Play Chicken with the Sun
Chicken. A challenge between two forces. One winner. One loser. Florida's sun will be my biggest challenge on this trip. It'll ask me to come out and play. It'll form alliances with my friends and they'll try to get me out too. That's not in the cards. I'm coming home pale. There's work to be done.
Conclusion
Your day job is mandatory. Time spent afterward is flexible. Set goals. Defy distractions. Keep climbing straight up.
