Last night was co-ed kickball night. We lost. To celebrate, we went to a Lakewood foodie parlor, Taco Tontos.
Only Cool People Know About Taco Tontos
If you went to Kent, you know Taco Tontos. It's tucked back downtown on Franklin ave. next to Ray's Place. Their steep entrance steps lead you to a tight dining room. But, their water's free and their people are easy. Turns out they opened another location in Lakewood. Here's 3 reasons why I think Tontos tops Chipotle.
1. Their Sauce is Boss
Each table has a few bottles of good sauce. I've seen people take a bite of their burrito, then fill that bite mark with sauce. Take another bite, and fill that bite with sauce again. And do this dance for their whole burrito. Tontos' squeezable bottles of sauce are nice to manage for the hands and nicer for the palate.

2. Their Zest is Pressed
What they've done is genius. They had the audacity to put a burrito in a panini press. When you munch there's crunch. It's a new classification of burrito and I think it's nice.

3. Their Variety Has Notoriety
Bacon and Cheese Burgerito. Philly Cheesesteak. Pulled Pork. Haddock Fish. Heuvos Rancheros. Dude. Where's my car? Options rule. Taco Tontos has unruly options.

Conclusion
I do love Chipotle. It's the standard I hold other restaurants to. If I get a $13 dollar meal at Barnacle Bills and it wasn't good, I always think, "I could've got two Chipotle burritos instead of that". However! Taco Tontos' sauce, panini burritos and selection may have won the election. Now! Chipotle is cheaper. But! Tontos gives you free chips. It's a deathless debate. But as a small-business man, I vote Taco Tontos.
