Blasted
I released a video two days ago, Amanda is Pregnant!, that shows Amanda and I renewing our vows. I hear you; I've been getting blasted on this. Renewing vows at five years is too early. But, waiting for a wedding band for five years is too long.
Band
There was an awkward moment at my wedding when I overheard the bridesmaids talking during the ceremony. One whispered, "Where is Amanda's wedding band?" The other said, "He didn't get her one. She's going to take off her engagement ring for the ceremony and he's going to put it back on her finger when they exchange rings". The bridesmaids looked puzzled. I felt embarrassed. I couldn't afford a band at the time. That was June 3rd, 2012.
Business
Since then, I've been telling Amanda that I would get her a wedding band for our five-year anniversary. Why five? It's a milestone. Plus, she didn't expect it because we've been saving for the gym this whole time.
Bride
The biggest reason why I renewed our vows with a new ring is because I need Amanda to know she's most important. Now, during our pre-launch, and later, when we launch, she holds rank. And I say that a ton, but talk can get cheap, sometimes you've got to put your money where your mouth is. It's an area where I've struggled and I hope to get better.
Bottom Line
Your spouse is important. Say it often. Show it more.
